Your Bedroom Impacts Your Sleep

Here are five tips for creating a healthy sleep environment from Dr. Michael Roizen, Chief Wellness Officer at Cleveland Clinic:

TIP #1: Make your bedroom conducive to sleep: Turn down the temperature so it’s cool and your body registers that it is time for bed.

TIP #2: Cover any ambient light sources — even those small blinking alarm clock lights.

TIP #3: Use a memory foam mattress for healthy spinal alignment and comfort, and a memory foam pillow to properly support your neck.

TIP #4: Turn on an air purifier to remove problematic particles, allowing you to breathe and sleep more soundly. Look for HEPA filters and avoid ozone generating devices.

TIP #5: Cover your mattress and pillows with organic cotton encasements to minimize dust mites and use linens that resist bacteria growth.
